About us
Who we are
The Future Jewelers Fund is a purpose-driven initiative dedicated to empowering youth and underserved communities through access, education, and opportunity in the gem and jewelry industry.
Future Jewelers Academy launched its inaugural program in 2024 in Brooklyn, NY, creating new pathways into the jewelry industry. Founded by leaders committed to equity, access, and innovation, FJA has grown from a single program into a model for mentorship, training, and career development.
FJA is the flagship program of the BIJC Education Fund, an independent 501c3, and serves as our primary expression and focus. Led by a diverse board of professionals whose perspectives extend beyond any one organization or program, we are shaping a more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable future for the jewelry industry.
We are expanding
With two established programs and a new location planned for White Plains, NY in 2026, we’re broadening opportunities for students to explore, learn, and connect across the jewelry industry.
Our approach
Our work is guided by a commitment to equity, creativity, and long-term impact — and it comes to life through four core pillars:
We Discover and Invest
We identify emerging talent and provide the resources they need to shine in the gem and jewelry industry. From tools and materials to funding and exposure, we invest in potential where it matters most.
We Support and Guide
Mentorship is at the heart of what we do. Through one-on-one guidance, access to industry insight, and a strong sense of community, we ensure every participant is supported on their journey.
We Teach and Train
We believe in learning by doing. Our programs deliver hands-on education, immersive workshops, and real-world experiences designed to build confidence, creativity, and technical skill.
We Open Doors
We create tangible career pathways — connecting participants to internships, industry partners, and job opportunities that lead to lasting change and meaningful representation in the jewelry world.
